Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis)is a perennial herb in the mint family , native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean. It grows to 70-150 cm tall.
The leaves have a mild lemon scent. It can be aggressive so best to take advantage of its stress reducing properties and drink it hot or cold.
Its flowers are a great nectar source for bees, hence the genus name Melissa (Greek for ‘honey bee’).
